Recently, on July 10, 2023, the GIZ ICONE organized a workshop titled “Sustainability in Tourism.” This gathering brought together a diverse range of tourism service providers, including tour operators, eco-lodges, hotels, and eco-schools, to share valuable insights into sustainable tourism practices. The workshop covered topics such as waste management, eco-certification programs, best practice examples of sustainability, customer insights and environmental impact of hospitality. Its primary objective was to foster awareness about environmental sustainability in tourism and the action needed to preserve the natural heritage and biodiversity.
